"He slept that night in his own country and he had a dream wherein he saw God's pilgrims laboring upon a darkened verge in the last of the twilight of that day and they seemed to be returning from some deep enterprise that was not of war nor were they yet in flight but rather seemed coming from some labor to which perhaps these and all other things stood subjugate."
The Crossing, Cormac McCarthy

“In that high place in the darkness the two oddly sensitive human atoms held each other tightly and waited. In the mind of each was the same thought. “I have come to this lonely place and here is this other,” was the substance of the thing felt.” — Sherwood Anderson, Winesburg, Ohio

“If I ever die, do me a favor. Go on Oprah and tell the world that I loved kittens.”

When they ask why I’m largely socially paranoid, persnickety, distrusting and mostly hostile, I will cite high school, near-constant support of high school precedent, and Veronica Mars as my back-up. This girl saved my life in high school, no lies.

Tragedy blows through your life like a tornado, uprooting everything, creating chaos. You wait for the dust to settle, and then you choose. You can live in the wreckage and pretend it’s still the mansion you remember. Or you can crawl from the ruble and slowly rebuild. Because after disaster strikes, the important thing is that you move on. But if you’re like me, you just keep chasing the storm. The problem with chasing the storm is it wears you down, breaks your spirit. Even the experts agree. A girl needs closure.

It’s like hitting your thumb with a hammer. Then, when it’s throbbing so badly you don’t think you’ll survive, you cut the damn thing off.

Veronica Mars is actually the only way I dare access my time at high school - through a proxy.

Yeah, apparently Tumblr is going to make me cry about my favorite old tv shows today.
